Wesley R. Bishop is an assistant professor of American and Public history at Jacksonville State University in northeast Alabama. He is the founding and managing editor of the North Meridian Review and the founding editor of North Meridian Books.

His work focuses on the history of social movements, public sphere studies, and regionalism (particularly Appalachia). He writes history, poetry, and fiction.
