In the summer of 2023, founding and managing editor of North Meridian Press, Wesley Bishop, held a series of writing workshops with the Belmont County District Libraries in SE Ohio. The goal of these workshops was to give residents a space to learn about creative non-fiction, fiction, and poetry writing. The prompts centered on discussing living through the COVID19 pandemic.
Residents were then invited to submit their work to an anthology.
To Write the World is the product of those workshops.
Area writers explored first learning about COVID, the emotional and physical cost the pandemic had had, and some residents chose to focus on other topics, such as fiction and local folk lore.
